Despite its glamorous past, the interior looked outdated. “It was very nineties, very neutral,” Annie says. The media room felt awkward, the kitchen had heavy cabinetry, and the bathroom featured an oversized jacuzzi tub. They decided to renovate while honoring its legacy.

Tony and Annie added custom furniture by artist Ryan McCann. Their bedroom has a bedframe and nightstands by McCann. A painting of Arnold Schwarzenegger with “SHRED” across his eyes adds humor. Hidden workout gear—pull-up bars, resistance bands—appears in nearly every room.

Designer Amber McDermitt helped execute the vision room by room. Annie’s influence is everywhere. From her grandfather’s crystal clusters to a chandelier from her late uncle, personal mementos fill the house.

A Sentimental First Impression

Tony and Annie weren’t house-hunting seriously at the time. Still, when they walked in, it felt right. “It felt like your grandmother’s house,” Tony recalls. Even with outdated decor, it immediately felt like home.

Tony had a hunch. “I wonder if Annie likes this place,” he thought. She turned to him and mouthed, “I love this place.” From that moment, they knew this home was the one.
